As part of her exhibition The Dream Keeper, Abigail DeVille will lead participants in a Dream Variations processional that will pay homage to lesser known Black individuals buried in Lakeview cemetery while incorporating what it means to be Black in America. Join us for a procession beginning at The Sculpture Center into the neighboring Lakeview Cemetery and ending at the cemetery’s Wade Chapel. Live musicians playing sounds of the universe and dancers will perform and blend the passage from the past to present experience and the future.
This event is part of the closing activities for the final weekend of FRONT International Triennial Oh, Gods of Dust and Rainbows. This program was supported by Arts Midwest and the National Endowment for the Arts.
