Fred Bidwell's restless energy led him to found FRONT International triennial

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Fred Bidwell disliked sports as a kid growing up in Boston, Montreal, and Greenville, SC, but admits he's addicted to the kind of high that runners get.
That's why it wasn't enough for him to co-launch the non-profit Transformer Station gallery in Cleveland in 2013 with his wife, photographer Laura Bidwell, after retiring from a lucrative career in advertising in Akron.
"You want to kick that button and get some more endorphins," he said. "I'm a self confessed workaholic. I really do like to be busy."
