"Mouse Hunt" by Seuil Chung–Opening Reception at KINK Contemporary

August 5, 2022, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

KINK Contemporary is pleased to announce our upcoming exhibition, Mouse Hunt, a collection of ceramic artwork by artist and educator Seuil Chung. This exhibition is on view August 5 through September 8, 2022, and will take place at our new storefront location at 15515 Waterloo Rd., Cleveland, Ohio. The opening reception will be held on Friday, August 5, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. during Walk All Over Waterloo and the 2022 CAN Triennial.

Seuil Chung is an artist who works primarily in ceramics along with performance, video, and photography. Chung is currently based in Akron, Ohio, teaching in the Ceramics Department at Myers School of Art, University of Akron. He earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in Ceramics at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan and his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Mouse Hunt is an ongoing exploration and expression of the bodily images that float in the artist’s head. The artist uses abstraction as a formal strategy to convey a sense of uncanniness. Aside from presenting glimpses of images of the human body, the artist extends his exploration to systemic assemblies and interactions of different parts within the individual pieces.

KINK Contemporary is an exhibition space founded in 2019. KINK strives to connect the artist, both established and emerging, who have a unique voice and technique to people of all ages and backgrounds. KINK Contemporary’s exhibitions are free to the public, with select exhibition open dates and opportunities for private viewings outside of 78th Street Studios’ Third Friday Art Walk.
