A group of arts-oriented Cleveland individuals and institutions aims to make the city a major destination for art lovers with an ambitious, multi-venue arts program that will launch in 2018.

FRONT Exhibition Co. on Thursday, Aug. 4, announced the launch of what it’s calling “FRONT International: Cleveland Exhibition for Contemporary Art,” which will take place in Cleveland every three years. FRONT is led by CEO and executive director Fred Bidwell, co-founder of Transformer Station in Cleveland and one of the city’s leading arts philanthropists. The first edition of the exhibition, titled “An American City,” will run July 7 to Sept. 30, 2018.
